Steve was born May 14, 1958, in Ashland, IL, the son of Joseph F. Cosner and Mary Ann Schaddel.
He attended Griffin High School and played basketball and football throughout his high school career. Steve played softball at the Four Seasons and loved to bowl every Thursday night at Strike & Spare East. Steve was employed with BDI Industrial Supply Co., in Peoria and made friends wherever he went. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, being outdoors, camping, grilling, and feeding his birds. Steve was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, and Fighting Illini fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Deborah; brother, Michael Cosner; and son-in-law, Chris Fox.
Steve is survived by his 3 daughters, Frankie, Jessie (Jeremiah), and Katie (Ron); 11 grandchildren, Lillie, Elijah, Cayden, Jeremiah, Carter, Jeriahna, Ryne, Charleigh, Jahniah, Raelyn, and Rowan; siblings, Susan (Gene) Cosner and Dave Cosner; sister-in-law: Kim Cosner; nephew, Matthew; niece, Kelly; and several cousins.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 800 W. Main St., Ashland, IL. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Daren J. Zehnle, J.C.L., K.C.H.S., celebrant.
Private family burial will be held.
