

Steven A. Clark, Sr., 64, of Springfield, died at 4:25 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Steve was born January 14, 1950 in Springfield, the son of James E. and Norma Jean Luparell Clark. He married Kathy Power on May 24, 1980 at the Jerome United Methodist Church. Steve attended Feitshans High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Glenn Brunk Stationers for several years and then was the owner and operator of Carter Office Supply. He later worked for the Illinois State Lottery as a telemarketing manager. Steve played in several bands for 20-30 years around the Springfield area including Stone Creation, Bits and Pieces, and Parallel. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and gambling, especially horse racing and slot machines. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Clark, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Clark of Springfield; two sons, Steven Clark, Jr. and Kyle Clark, both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Riley and Tyler Clark of Springfield; brother, Gary (wife, Sharon) Clark; sister-in-law, Lucy Clark; sisters, Jackie Clark, and JoAnn (husband, Michael) Heffern, all of Springfield; and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and Department of Defense.
