Stacey was born August 31, 1950, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of John Morris and Lois (Ross) Winch.
She graduated from Springfield High School in 1968 and attended Western Illinois University. Stacey owned and operated Winch Floral Shop which was in business for over 100 years in Springfield. For 40 years she enjoyed making magnolia wreaths for the annual National American Legion Lincoln Pilgrimage from the Illinois State Capital to Lincoln’s tomb. Stacey was also a judge for several years for the IL Skills Competition, a member of the Springfield Jaycee’s Auxiliary “the Jayshees”, a Brownie scout leader, and a member of the IL State Floral Association. She enjoyed tending to plants, playing board games, doing puzzles, shopping, traveling to England, the Bahamas, Hawaii and Lake of the Ozarks, and attending many flower conventions. She was generous to those in need, had a fondness for all animals and was an avid reader. Stacey also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Stacey was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Regina Oldbury; brother, John Winch, Jr.; and honorary family, Ben and Ida Victor.
She is survived by her daughters, Laurel (Terry) Castleman of Chatham, Christina (Mark) Norman of Wentzville, MO, and Molly Jo Gooden of Springfield; grandchildren, Micah, Caleb, and Isabelle Norman; sisters, Diana Hemmenway, Veronica Winch, and Renee Bollinger; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:45 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. A funeral ceremony will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
