

Sean Thomas Canavan, 20, of Springfield, passed away at 11:22 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at St. John's Hospital. Sean was born on March 19, 1990 in Springfield, the son of Thomas John Canavan and Anna Frances Richter. Sean attended Rochester High School, was an avid movie buff, a Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan and loved his dog, Shooter. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Canavan; paternal grandmother, Audrey Bryson and his maternal grandparents, William and Helen Richter. He is survived by his parents, Thomas Canavan and Anna Richter, both of Springfield; siblings, Erin Kathleen Canavan stationed at NAS Lemoore, Colleen Danielle Dallman and Vanessa Ann Dallman, both of Springfield; one niece, Erika; four nephews, Kenny, Sebastian, Austin and Jack; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many close friends including Mac Broglin and Jonathan Beatty. A eulogy service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield followed by a visitation until 7:00 p.m. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sean Thomas Canavan Memorial Fund, US Bank, 2801 Chatham Rd., Springfield, IL 62704. In honor of Sean's gift of life donation, a white flag will be flown at half mast at St. John's Hospital until February 20, 2011.
