Sarah Jane DeLay, 98, of Springfield, passed away on August 5, 2024 at Regency Care in Springfield. She was born on Carlinville, Illinois to William L. Bridges and Ethel P. Large Bridges. Sarah married Fred DeLay on May 28, 1943 and he preceded her in death on May 31, 2000.
Mrs. DeLay is survived by her children: Janet (Mike) Cunningham of Springfield, Troy (Suzzane) DeLay of Jacksonville and Carolyn DeLay of Springfield, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and one sister Lucille Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Graveside service will then be held at 12:00 Noon at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
