Ruthann N. Murphy passed away loved and surrounded by her family on February 22, 2011 at her home after a short illness bravely fought. Ruthann was a wonderful, kind, bright, and fun-loving person and was taken from us far too early. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched especially her family.
Ruthann was born February 4, 1950 in Scranton, PA., the daughter of John L. and Eulalia McCormick Murphy, they precede her in death.
Ruthann was raised in a military family and settled in Austin, Texas where she earned a B.B.A. from the University of Texas. She moved to Springfield, IL with her family in 1989 where she earned a M.S.W. from the University of Illinois, Champaign, and was a psychiatric social worker for fifteen years at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was devoted to her children and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children Joey (Rozanne) Klinger of Mahopac, NY, Mary Klinger (Brian) Simmons of Fairview Heights, IL., Nora Klinger (Ryan) Kelly of Springfield. Grandchildren Molly and Darcy Klinger and Anne Simmons. A sister Marla Donahue (Mike Brinck) of Annapolis, MD, a brother John (Lori) Murphy of San Antonio, TX., plus a nephew and several nieces.
A time to weep and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn and a time to dance.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill in Springfield. Funeral mass will be Monday, February 28, 2011 at 9:30 am at the Christ The King Church 1930 Barberry Dr in Springfield. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield.
