Springfield. Ruth was born on February 20, 1940, in Belleville, IL. Ruth married Wilbur (Will) Adams Sr. on September 19, 1959, and he preceded Ruth in death on July 20, 2017.
Ruth’s faith was very important to her. She was a member of Sherman Methodist Church. She liked listening to church hymns and 50’s music. Ruth cherished her relationships with her late husband, sons Wil and Ken, and friends Dora Findlay and Sharon Khanna. She loved talking to people and did not know a stranger- Ruth wanted to love and be loved.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Wil Adams (Alex Yates) of Springfield and Ken (Jan) Adams of North Oaks, MN; sister, Darlene Beach of Glen Carbon, IL; grandchildren, Michael (Catie) Adams and Stephanie (Amber) Mirza; and great-grandchild, Johanna Adams
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sherman Methodist Church.
Visitation for Ruth will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th Street in Springfield. Service to celebrate Ruth’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jon Carrell officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
