Rosemary Kelly Gibbs, 69, of Delray Beach, FL, died November 6, 2003 at her home. She was born April 17, 1934, in Evanston, the daughter of Walter D. and Ruth Mary Quinn Kelly. Rosemary graduated with honors from Trinity College in Washington D.C., and studied in the Masters Program in Theology at the University of California at San Diego, CA. She was well known for her quick wit, varied interests and sense of humor. She especially loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She was both a student and teacher. Her career included teaching at Sacred Heart High School, practicing as a paralegal for the Old Kent Bank in Chicago and she especially enjoyed assisting in the location of all types of periodicals at Barnes and Noble in Naples, Florida. While a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish she was active with the Phoenix Group. Some of her other activities were the Girls Scouts of America, the Junior League of Springfield, Local politics, Illini Country Club, and the Springfield Racquet and Fitness Club. While living in Chicago she volunteered for many organizations, including the Lakeview Food Pantry, AIDS Center, and Rachel’s House. She was a member of the “Goldens” in Delray Beach Florida. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and one son, W. Joseph Gibbs Jr. She is survived by two daughters: Ruth M. (husband John) Rankin of Springfield, and Barbara Kelly Gibbs of Lakewood, CO; one son: Timothy K. Gibbs of Salt Lake City, UT; Former husband W. Joseph Gibbs of Springfield and Naples, FL; one sister: Louise (husband, Bernard) Martell of Portland, OR; one brother: Quinn (wife, Dorrie) Kelly, Kalamazoo, MI; five grandchildren: Nicolette and Will Rankin of Springfield, Joe, Patrick and Sarah Gibbs of Salt Lake City, UT; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday November 13, 2003. Memorial Mass is at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2003 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Rev. Msgr. Kevin Vann celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Clerc Foundation, for the benefit of, Rocky Mountain Deaf School, 430 S. Kipling St., Lakewood, CO 80226.
