Roger J. Reese, 66, of Chatham passed away on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 18, 1947 in Lake Zurich, IL., the son of Harold and Marie Lohman Reese. He married his best friend Becky Neibert on September 10, 1994 in Chatham and she survives.
Mr. Reese is also survived by his two sons: Blake (Meghan) Reese of Pawnee, and Jon (Laura) Reese of Springfield, his daughter Jennifer (Jeff) Duvall of Springfield, one brother Barry Reese of barrington, IL., and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis.
Roger owned and operated R.W. Bradley Supply Company for over forty years and with his wife for over twenty years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved nature and the outdoors, and was a lifetime member of the TRN Club and the Associated General Contractors of Springfield. He truly enjoyed his many years of duck and goose hunting with his best buddies Marley and Sammi Sipes of Rushville, and deer hunting with his son Blake, a time he always looked forward to. Roger will be sadly missed by his four legged “kids:” Molli, Mariah, Max and Moe Joe as well as the many people he came in contact with over the years.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Sunday October 20, 2013 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Rd. The family will meet friends from 2:00pm until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home and casual attire is requested by the family. Memorial contributions may be made to S.I.U.
