Roger L. Frazer

Roger L. Frazer, Sr., 76, of Springfield, died at 9:07 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2007 at his residence. Roger was born July 9, 1931 in Chester, IL, the son of Albert Everett and Blanche Mansker Frazer. He married Maureen M. O’Connor in 1964 in Chester; she preceded him in death in 1996. Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed as the Area Director and a Union Negotiator for AFSCME until he retired in 1987. Roger was a member of Lakeside Christian Church where he attended Bible study class. He enjoyed attending his grandkids’ sporting and school events, politics and fishing. He was also preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers: Vernon, Herman, Wayne and James Frazer and Cole, Raymond and Norman Burditt; and six sisters: Evelyn and Ima Jean Frazer, Vivian White, Nina Kirkover, Dorothy Pilch and Wilma Glover. He is survived by four sons: Roger (Jane), Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN, Greg (Karen) of Nashville, IL, Mike of Springfield and James Frazer of Springfield; one daughter: Terie (Paul) Gleason of Normal; two stepsons: Jerry (Vicky) Morgan of Springfield and Kevin Scott (Sandy) Morgan of Perryville, MO; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers: Donald Frazer of Ironton, MO, and Gary Frazer of Gatlinburg, TN; one sister: Geneva Bradley of Salinas, CA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial ceremonies will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Jon Morrissette officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
