He was born on February 3, 1965, in Jacksonville, IL, the son of Robert C. Allen and Leona "Twink" Baird Allen. Bob married Susan Relzda on December 9, 1995, at the First Church of God, in Springfield, and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Logan Allen and Connor Allen of Loami; a sister, Pam Keller of White Hall; two nephews, Heath (Lisa) Keller of Troy and Drew (Teresa) Keller of Springfield; five great-nephews; and one great niece.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Allen; and his mother, Leona “Twink” Allen.
Bob graduated from North Greene in 1983. In high school, Bob played football and baseball while working at Meehan's Grocery in Roodhouse. He went on to Ranken Technical College, where he graduated with an associate’s degree in 1985. After graduation, he worked for Modern Business Systems in St. Charles, MO. In 1989, he started his 36-year career at CDS Office Technologies in Springfield as an MFP technician and eventually moving up to Director of IT Strategic Sales. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking family vacations, playing golf, landscaping, and gardening.
Those who knew Bob will remember him for his smile, laugh, and sense of humor. He was encouraging, uplifting, insightful, and everyone admired him dearly as he was a genuine “go to guy”. Bob had the ability to be positive regardless of the situation and left that lasting impact on all he encountered. He will be loved and missed more than he ever would have known.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield with Pastor Anthony Bliss officiating.
Burial will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
