Richard William Morris, 79, of Springfield, died at 6:34 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. He was born on January 26, 1927 in Springfield, the son of Thomas F. and Helen Bridget Casey Morris. He was a graduate of Cathedral Boys High School. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of St. Agnes. He served as a cook his entire lifetime in various Springfield restaurants. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: James Morris and Rev. John Morris and one sister: Helen F. Morris. He is survived by two brothers: Thomas C. Morris and Rev. Robert P. Morris, both of Springfield; one niece: Sheila A. (husband, Michael) Noonan of Springfield; one nephew: James R. (wife, Barbara) Morris of Springfield; three great-nephews: Scott A. Noonan of Las Vegas, NV, Tim J. Morris and Dan R. Morris, all of Springfield; two great nieces: Laura Noonan of Springfield, IL and Julie Noonan of Springfield, MO and several cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield, with Rev. Robert J. Jallas celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family of Richard William Morris is being served by Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
