Richard P. DalBello, 87, of Springfield, died at 3:05 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital. Richard was born April 29, 1917 in Strawn, TX the son of Secondo and Judith Bordignon DalBello. He married Erma Bianco in 1945 in Springfield. Mr. DalBello was employed by Evan’s Construction for 40 years retiring in 1979 where he was superintendent of the construction of hospitals, office buildings and churches. He was a U.S. Army Veterans serving during WWII where he received two Overseas Service Bars, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He was a member of Carpenter’s Union Local #16, Knights of Columbus Council #364 and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Erma of Springfield; three sons: John DalBello of Seattle, WA, Richard (wife, Marcia) DalBello of Takoma Park, MD, Patrick (wife, Susan) DalBello of Houston, TX; two daughters: Judy (husband, Bill) Rowan of Dallas, TX, Roseann DalBello (husband, Bret Morgan) of Fairfax, CA; and six grandchildren: Lauren, Michael and April DalBello all of Tokoma Park, MD, Emily Rowan of Dallas, TX, Sandra, Elizabeth and Patricia DalBello all of Houston, TX. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1020 N. Milton, Springfield, with Rev. Rodney Schwartz celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of the donor’s choice. The family of Richard P. DalBello is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
