Richard E Blalock

Richard E. Blalock, 93, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday April 16, 2022 at Regency Care in Springfield. He was born on May 16, 1928 in Springfield to Ralph Blalock and Margaret Welch. Richard married Audrey “Sid” Ross in Greene County, Illinois on June 6, 1948 and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2013.

Mr. Blalock is survived by two children: Thomas Earl (Judy) Blalock of Springfield and Karan (Dr. Randy) Ross of Sherman, four grandchildren: Jessica (Johnny) Guinn, Michael (Elisha) Tucker, Kendra (Rich Feffer) Blalock and Sarah Blalock, and four great-grandchildren: Olivia, Macie, Cooper and Lyla. He was preceded in death by one son Ted Allen Blalock.

Richard was a US Navy Veteran. He worked as the manager of General Tire and he retired from Goodyear Tire. Richard was an artist who painted home portraits and sold them to several area realtors.
