Reginald was born in Springfield, IL in 1931, the son of Reginald R. Mari and Rose Mari (Colantino). He married Alicia Corcuera in 2005 in Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death in 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Reginald and Rose, and his sister Marlene.
Reginald was a graduate of University of Illinois, Champaign. He was a constant learner, reader, and a successful businessman. His greatest accomplishment was creating his own investment management company and having a seat on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He engineered many bridges, tunnels, airport extensions, roads, and great structures working for the City of Chicago in Civil Engineering.
Reginald enjoyed visiting the library his whole life and had a huge thirst for knowledge. When he was in Chicago, he enjoyed playing chess on the tables of Lake Shore Park in Chicago. Reginald was a member of several boat clubs, an avid listener of jazz music, a caring uncle, and dutiful son.
He is survived by one aunt; one niece; three nephews; and ten cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home - Springfield, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield with Fr. Al Kemme from Church of the Little Flower officiating.
