She was born on September 10, 1952, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of William G. and Julia Nellie (Tekoris) Walschleger. Rebecca married Rex Finley on September 2, 1972, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Sherman.
Rebecca graduated from Williamsville High School in 1970 and earned her bachelor’s degree from Millikin University. She went on to get her master’s from University of Illinois Springfield. Rebecca was a music teacher at Rochester, Williamsville and Sacred Heart Griffin High Schools. She also taught piano lessons out of her home for many years while raising her children. Rebecca enjoyed music and gardening, she loved animals, painting, drawing, photography, and cooking. She especially enjoyed sharing her creative talents with her eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and husband, Rex.
Rebecca is survived by her daughters, Katie (Dan) Stauffer and Annie Finley; son, Casey (Jennifer) Finley; grandchildren, Jack, Emma, and Maggie Zibutis, Jacob and Ryan Finley, and Nellie, Olivia, and Cecilia Weller; brother, Ted (Charlotte) Walschleger; beloved poodles, Rosie and Daisy; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Private ceremonies were held.
