Ramona was born August 14, 1941 in Chicago, Il the daughter of Walter and Hazel Farris Borsch.
She is survived by loving sister Sharon Borsch Homer, half-sister Mardena Waller, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Ramona graduated from Brown’s Business College during her high school years. She received her B.A. degree from Blackburn University and her M.Ed. degree from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. Education was extremely important to her and she helped many students along the way in Illinois, Indiana and California. Her life’s work was in Financial Grants – Financial Aid in Education and Senior Student Counselor. Her rich work history included while living in Illinois she was the Director of Personnel at University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. In Indiana she was the Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Purdue University and in California was the Director of Financial Aid at Mendocino-Lake Community College, Senior Financial Aid counselor at Sonoma State University, Administrative Assistant to the Chairman in Applied Physics at Standford University.
She was a member of numerous professional organizations where she received awards for her commitment to helping others. After retirement from the University system, she returned to Illinois and worked for the State of Illinois in accounting for a number of years before retiring from there. She had a quick wit, positive attitude and a gentle loving heart. Throughout her life she helped countless family members and friends with her generous nature in many ways when someone needed assistance or just out of the goodness of her heart. She was always willing to lend a hand to help someone get back on their feet or give someone a boost to help further themselves.
Private graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
