He was born in Springfield, November 21, 1946 the son of William D. and Edna Mae Stickel Lott. He was a graduate of Williamsville High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp achieving the rank of Corporal. He earned the National Defense Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal and the Vietnamese Service Medal.
Phil married Deborah Grelck in Springfield at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church September 1, 1990 and she survives. He is also survived by his son, Brian (wife Kellie) Lott of Springfield, his step-daughter, Michelle (Husband Mike) Dellamano of Naperville, IL, two grandchildren; Jack and Genevieve Dellamano, his brother, Russell “Red” (wife Sandy) Lott of Eldridge, IA, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, and two sisters, Rebecca Dilley and Paula Rice preceded him in death.
Phil was the Purchasing Facilitator at the St. Francis Convent in Springfield. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sherman, and was a member of Marine Corp League, Collier-Harrison Detachment having served as past Judge Advocate and as the current Commandant. He was also a member of Military Order of the Devil Dogs, Central Illinois Pound226 and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. He was also passionately involved with the Toy for Tots Campaign in Springfield.
Phil thoroughly enjoyed his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and cooking over the open fire.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield, where visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday February 24, 2011 and where funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday February 25, 2011 with Rev. James Stuenkel officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
