Pearl C. Jackson

Pearl C. Jackson, 89, of Springfield, formerly of Godfrey, passed away at 1:46 a.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at St. John's Hospital. Pearl was born September 24, 1926 in Haverhill, MA, the daughter of Cecil and Rose Fanjoy. Pearl married Austin P. Jackson on September 28, 1947 in Haverhill, MA. Pearl graduated from Haverhill High School. Pearl and her husband are former longtime members of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. She enjoyed volunteering with handicapped children. Pearl also enjoyed art, decorating, and sewing. She traveled to the Holy Land where she was blessed by Pope Paul VI. Pearl preferred spending time with her family and caring for her children. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Myrtle Rogers. She is survived by her husband, Austin P. Jackson of Springfield; son, Jeff (Lynn) Jackson of Springfield; three daughters, Kathy (Lane) Phillips of McHenry, Amy (Guy) Chevalier of Rutland, VT, Dianne (David) Woodward of Cambridge, NY; seventeen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December, 19, 2015 at Concordia Village, 4101 W. Iles Ave., Springfield with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola officiating.
