Pauline A. Marx Miller

Pauline A. Marx Miller, 92, of Springfield, died on Friday, October 3, 2008 at her home. Pauline was born on December 5, 1915 in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Meicho Marx. She was married to Clifford Joseph Miller and he preceded her in death in 1968. Pauline graduated from the St. Louis School of Cosmetology, becoming owner and operator of Carey's Beauty Shop. She went on to work at St. John's Hospital doing clerical work where she retired. Pauline was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish at Sacred Heart Church where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Pauline also enjoyed many crafts, including sewing, crocheting, and baking wedding cakes. Pauline was also preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Marilyn Watts; her sister, Margaret Marx; six brothers, Joseph, Bill, Carl, Lawrence, Raymond, and Pete Marx; and two great grandsons, Joshua and Lucas Smith. She is survived by her son, Gary (wife, Judy) Miller; four granddaughters, Kim (husband, Chris) Hall, Tina (husband, Clint) Abner, Pam (husband, Stan) Cheung, all of Springfield, and Polly (husband, Bruce) Antonocci of Loami; two grandsons, Kenneth Miller of Springfield, and Oley (wife, Crystal) Haynes of Springfield; fourteen great grandchildren, Alec and Kristin Hall, Courtney, Shane, Nichole and Devon Conkrite, Amber, Krystal, Adam, Kaleb, Nathan, and Leah Cheung, Heather and Dorian Antonocci; in addition to several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Anthony Schmidt, celebrant.
