He was born on February 15, 1926 in Springfield, the son of the late Sven and Helen (Aarup) Rasmussen.
Paul retired as a professor at the University of Wisconsin in LaCrosse, WI. He had also served previously as a Lutheran minister. Paul was one of the first people to come to Concordia Village. He signed on when it was just a bean field. He was one of the first to live at Founders, about 24 years ago.
He is survived by his sister Viola Hollister of Springfield; a special cousin Marilyn McCann of Auburn, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rosabel Rasmussen and Greta Graham; and 1 brother Gorm Rasmussen.
Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, Springfield. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 11 am at Concordia Village Chapel. The family will greet friends from 10:30 am until time of the memorial service. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Inurnment will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield.
