Paul Thomas Smiley Lewis

Paul was born May 11, 1947 in Springfield, the son of Paul R. and Francine Huffaker Lewis.

Paul attended the First Church of Christ – Science. He farmed with his father, worked as a custodian for District 186, and then owned and operated Lewis Lawn & Landscape for more than 25 years. Paul enjoyed running sound at the State Fair, dirt biking, four wheeling, and attending car races and tractor pulls. He was known to many as “Smiley” and was a kind man who enjoyed telling funny stories.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his twin sister, Priscilla Winchell of Springfield; his brother, Douglas (wife, Patricia) Lewis of New Berlin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 South Grand Avenue West, Springfield.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Boardman-Smith Funeral Home with Reader Alvina Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.
