Paul H. Haynes, Sr., 76, of Springfield, passed away at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at St. John's Hospital. Paul was born August 9, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Albert Edward and Violet K. (Mosebar) Haynes. Paul was first employed by Bill James Chevrolet in St. Louis. His next employer sent him to Springfield to open and run Hennessey-Forrestal of Springfield, where he retired from. A proud mason, Paul was a member of the Gardenville Masonic Lodge #455 (St. Louis), Ansar Shriner's, and Jeepster's Unit. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking Hera on walks and playing with her, spending time with his daughter Donna, visiting with neighbors, talking with old friends, taking joy rides to see what's going on, watching TV, and eating out at Steak n' Shake and Sonic. He was known for being quite a jokester. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Henry Haynes, Jr; his parents; and one brother, Albert Edward Haynes, Jr. He is survived by two daughters, Constance Marie Haynes of Las Vegas, NV and Donna E. Haynes of Springfield; one granddaughter, Lisa (husband, Jeremiah) Altepeter; one great-grandson, Henry Nolan Altepeter; grand-dog, Hera; one sister, Ruth Tooley of St. Louis, MO; close family friends, Jeff, Irma Lou, Shannon, Nathan, and Mason Knoles; and nieces and nephews. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
