Patricia "Pat" Ann Porter

Patricia Pat A. Porter, of Chatham, formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully at Reflections Memory Care Residence, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. She was born September 17, 1930 in St. Louis, MO, to John and Ann Sullivan Lagermann. She married John A. Most, MD October 25, 1952 and he preceded her in death. Pat was also preceded in death by her second husband, Neil Porter, infant granddaughters Andrea Stege, (twins) Alexis and Jane Stege, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Most. Pat was a Registered Nurse at Memorial Medical Center for many years and helped developed the gastroenterology department during her tenure, retiring in 1992 after 16 years of service. She was a founding member of the Gastroenterology Nurses and received her masters degree at Sangamon State University. After retirement, Pat enjoyed her booth at Barrel Antique Mall. She was a founding member and past president of the Brinkerhoff House Preservation effort, where art and craft fairs were held for years. She attended St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Chatham. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Sue Stege of Chatham, IL, Sara Most of Springfield, VA, Ann (Dan) Cross of Carlsbad, NM; sons, John (Jodi) Most of Laguna Niguel, CA, William Most of Carlsbad, NM, and Gregory Most of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Patrick Porter, Christopher Stege, Jennifer Most Ryan, Andrew Most, Graham Most, Evan Cross, Michael Cross; sisters, Jane Gorton, Jackie Craven both of Albuquerque, NM; great grandchildren, Mary Jane Beel Most, Damian Most and Atreyu Most. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Chatham, before all services. Her family will greet friends from 9am until the time of the memorial service at 10am, Friday, August 25, 2017 at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL, 62629. Fr. John Nolan will be the officiant.
