Patricia A. "Pat" Bartlett

Pat was born July 4, 1936, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of John “Jack” and Catherine Roth Stapleton. She married Frederick Edward Bartlett on December 26, 1953, and they were married for 63 years. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2016.

Pat was employed with the State of Illinois as a key punch operator. Her greatest joy was being a stay-at-home mom with her children. Pat was a member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, cooking, baking, working outside and feeling the warmth of the sun, bird watching, flower gardening, and canning. She was also a voracious reader and loved to travel to Crestone, CO with her husband, Fred. Pat loved to travel by Amtrak train.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Stapleton; sister, Gina Crowell; son, John Joseph Bartlett; daughters, Sandra “Sandy” Henry and Diane Bartlett; and grandson, Andy Henry.

Pat is survived by children, Bruce (wife, Kendra) Bartlett of Jacksonville; Jeannette (husband, Dave) Waters of Springfield, Douglas Bartlett of Rushville, Stephen (wife, Leanne) Bartlett of the highways of the United States, and Angela Martin of Petersburg; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Kale of Sun City, AZ and Bridget Hulen of IL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at St. Cabrini Catholic Church, 1020 N. Milton, Springfield with Rev. George Nellikunnel, S.A.C., celebrant.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
