Norma J. Roberts

Norma J. Roberts, 91, of Springfield, passed away on May 2, 2020 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born on August 19, 1928 in Springfield to Roy Longhta and Hazel J. Schultz Longhta. Norma married Arthur Vanselow in 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1969. Norma married John D. Roberts in 1976 and he preceded her in death in 2018. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Gordon E. (Margaret) Longhta.

Norma is survived by two stepsons: Thomas David (Dixie) Roberts and William Lee (Jan) Roberts and their families, along with one brother Roy B. (Tove, deceased) Longhta Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

Norma was a lifelong Chicago Cub fan who enjoyed being active with family and friends. After retirement John and Norma moved to Arkansas for many years prior to moving back to Springfield. She was a member of Cathedral Church of St. Paul since 1946.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 13 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery, 4688 Old Route 36 in Springfield.
