Norma Kay Berry, 84, of Springfield, passed away at home on March 17, 2021 and went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family. She was born on May 11, 1936 in Springfield to Perry Delbert Boston and Edith Mae DeFevers. Kay married Rex Berry in Springfield on November 17, 1956 and he survives.
Mrs. Berry is also survived by two children: daughter Kayla (Jack) Dowden of Kalamazoo, Michigan and daughter Alayne (Mark) Scheff of Springfield, two grandchildren: Tonia K. Berry of Springfield and Andrew R. Dowden of Kalamazoo, Michigan and one great-grandson Traven Berry.
Kay worked as a secretary for her uncle Congressman Peter Mack and also worked for Governor George Ryan’s office. She enjoyed gardening, collecting paper dolls, crafting, going on fishing trips with Rex and taking care of her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Bisch Funeral Home West located at 2341 South Koke Mill Road from 10:30 am until the Funeral Service at 11:30 am on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. CDC guidelines will be followed.
