Nellie Christine Miller, 73, of Pawnee, IL and Umatilla, FL, passed away peacefully, September 30, 2012 at her residence. She was born April 18, 1939, in Williamsburg, KY. On January 1, 1956, she married Noel �Randy� Miller in Tallula, IL. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Inskip; brothers, Walt, Lynn and Larry and sister, Betty. Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband of 56 years, Randy; children Betty Miller of Chatham, Tony Miller of Springfield and Pam (Jim) Newbanks of Chatham; grandchildren, Addam Miller, Stephanie (Mike) Hudson, all of Springfield, Casey Newbanks of Chatham; aunt Myrtle Davis, OH; niece Helen (Buddy) Bown, CA; sisters Norma Jean (Larry) Conaway, Lois (Morris) McAllister, Wilma (Parrish) Tanner; brother Bill (Lori) Inskip, all of Springfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins. Nellie and Randy were best known locally as the original owners of The Alamo Restaurant in Springfield for 25 years. She loved to bowl and travel with her husband and family especially to Florida. She spent her time with her grandchildren, nurturing (spoiling) them as much as she could. Nellie was a member of the Red Hat Society. Visitation: Her family will greet friends from 4PM until 7PM, Tuesday, October 2, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Services: Will be held at 10AM, Wednesday, October 3, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, with Rev. Philip McGarvey officiating. Burial follows at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
