Mogene M. Ayers, 71, of Springfield, died at 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Capital Care Center. Mogene was born May 15, 1938 in Peoria the daughter of Clarence Oliver and Goldie M. Frisby Parish. She married Donald L. Ayers Sr. on May 13, 1978 in Springfield. Mogene graduated from Lanphier High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Fifth Street Flower Shop from where she retired after many years of employment. She enjoyed crocheting, making blankets and knitting. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Donald of Springfield; her son, Donnie (wife, Kendra) Ayers of Springfield; three daughters, Lisa Gramlich-King, Helena Gramlich and Sherri Gramlich-Miller (companion, C.J. Hocq), all of Springfield; two stepsons, Russell (wife, Theresa) Collins of Gardner, KS and Michael (wife, Merilee) Ayers of Lincoln; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie (husband, Frank) Smith of Aurora, CO and Melba (husband, Tom) Daley of Springfield; two brothers, Clarence Parish, Jr. of Springfield, and Bill (wife, Beverly) Crager of Marceline, MO; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral ceremony will be held at 1100 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
