Mildred V. Weinheimer

Mildred Victoria Weinheimer, 93, of Springfield passed away early Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on November 9, 1918 in Springfield the daughter of George Strode Sr. and Mary (Yost) Strode. She married Harold E. Weinheimer on September 28, 1940, the celebrated 60 years of marriage together until he preceded her in death in August of 2001. Mildred was a member of The Christian Women’s Club, and First Assembly of God Church. She loved cooking, traveling, and was a talented seamstress making her own clothes. Mildred is survived by 2 nephews; Jerry Weinheimer and Robert Weinheimer, 2 nieces; Louis Jean May and Carole Chauvez, a sister in law Dorothy Weinheimer, as well as several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded indeath by 2 brothers; Charles Strode and George Strode Jr, and her sister Ruth Hughes. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 24, at 11 am at Bisch & Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St, Springfield, IL 62703, with Pastor Dawn Stuemke of Calvary Temple officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
