Michael was born March 4, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Herbert Jr. and Grace Michalovitz Vaughn. He married Patricia L. Watts on August 25, 1964 in Brookline, MO; she preceded him in death on August 20, 2014.
Michael owned and operated Vaughn’s Appliance, Inc. for over 40 years. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan, but above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family. A favorite pastime was playing the game, “Mexican Train,” and he got a kick out of “beating” the Double Pepper video poker game. He also enjoyed “quiet time” mowing his several acres of grass. Michael looked forward to his weekly phone call from his brother, Herb, which would last for hours. Another highlight was watching football with his son, Michael, Jr. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters Carol Davis and Grace Kosut.
Michael is survived by his children, Patricia (Rick) Hagen of Springfield, Michael (Amy) Vaughn, Jr. of Springfield, Robin (Brian) Spencer of Greenfield, IN, and Brandy (Chris) Mikus of Buffalo; thirteen grandchildren, Chelsea, Michael III, Baylee, Sean, Kaylee, Luke, Jake, Emillie, Malachi, Brady, Bryer, Josie and Waylen; one great-grandchild, Landon; brother, Herbert (Micha) Vaughn III of Tucson, AZ; sister, Connie (Patton) Prince of Mount Vernon, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
