Michael Revell Johnson, 72, of Springfield, passed away on December 17, 2020 at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri after a four month battle with COVID-19. He was born on May 19, 1948 in Grinnell, Iowa to Raymond and Ada Revell Johnson. Michael married Deborah Septer on March 30, 1968 in Ewart, Iowa.
Mike is survived by Deborah, two daughters: Michelle (Brad) Davis of Sherman and Stacia (Brian) Gordon of Chatham, four grandchildren: Emily and Benjamin Davis and Jenna and Trent Gordon, three brothers: Marion (Marsha) Johnson, Keith (Karen) Johnson and Rex (Candy) Johnson all of Iowa and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Benae and Carol Beth Johnson, and sister in law Juanita Johnson.
Mike was raised in Montezuma, Iowa. He graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1966 and then attended Indian Hills Community College. Mike served his country in the United States Navy serving two tours in Vietnam. Mike worked at Anacomp for over thirty five years as a Senior Service Representative and also at Bunn-O-Matic as a customer service representative. Mike enjoyed golf, bowling, reading, playing cards, traveling, playing pool and darts with his grandchildren and cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. Mike treasured his time spent with family and friends.
Cremation rites were accorded. A burial at Camp Butler National Cemetery and a celebration of life memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
