Maxine Manila Phillips

Maxine was born January 25, 1926 at home in rural Sangamon County the daughter of Earl James and Ona Florence Campbell Kern. She married Francis Walsh Phillips, Jr. on February 22, 1946 in New York, and he preceded her in death September 29, 2008. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Phillips and a granddaughter Valeria Rich.

Maxine worked for 20 years at Dirksen Healthcare Nursing Center and also helped care for her five grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Phillips of Springfield; sons, Francis Phillips III and William Phillips both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Russ Brammer, Phillip (wife, Lisa) Brammer both of Springfield, James Phillips, Jr. of Iowa and Jason Phillips of Springfield; great grandchildren, Raelyn Brammer, Amanda Johnson, Sheawna and Paige Phillips, Brayden and Briar Rich. She is also survived by her little dog companion, Tutti.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel Friday March 30, 2012 from 1:00 PM until the time of services there at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Rose officiating.
