Mattie Marie Strumpher, 73, of Springfield, passed away at 6:31 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2001 at her residence. Mattie was born March 14, 1928 the daughter or Orville and Lavaughan Grigsby Beard in Taylorville. She married Charles B. Strumpher July 5, 1946; he preceded her in death April 18, 1978. Mattie was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Charles B. Strumpher and one son: Shawn Cordane Strumpher. She is survived by three sons: Markell (wife, Becky) Strumpher of Thayer, Bennie Strumpher of Springfield; Dana (wife, Marsha) Strumpher of Springfield; five daughters: Hope (husband, Leon) Mahan of Hot Springs, AR, Mariben Styczynsky of Warren, MI, Lavaughan Young of Springfield; Benjeana Oberline of Springfield, Dawn Wright of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 11-12:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2001. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2001 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Reverend George Bucks officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
