Matthew Dennison, 40, of Springfield, died at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2009 in Chicago. Matthew was born September 1, 1969 in Springfield, the son of Norman and Eileen Fitzgerald Dennison. He married Angela Weir on April 27, 1996 at St. John's Lutheran in Springfield. Matthew graduated from Griffin High School. He was employed as a passport director and traffic department manager for the County Circuit Clerk's Office. Matthew also worked as a nighttime cashier at Royal Oaks Nissan and part-time on air at WFMB-FM. Matthew enjoyed spending time with his wife and their three children and playing cards. He was a member of the Northside Republican Club and was a Republican Precinct Committeeman in Grandview. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and an uncle, Richard Bernet. He is survived by his wife, Angie Dennison of Springfield; three children, Will, Elizabeth "Lizzy", and Lauren Dennison all of Springfield; parents, Norman "Zeke" and Eileen Dennison of Springfield; two brothers, Norm Dennison of Wheaton and Mark (wife, Negretta) Dennison of Manhattan, KS; three sisters, Michelle (husband, Buddy) Lane of Bement, Betsy (husband, Chris) Kohlrus of Springfield, and Katherine (husband, Raj) Mohanty of Springfield; two brothers-in-law, Tom (wife, Katie) Weir and Joey Toigo, both of Springfield; a sister-in-law, Tara Toigo of Springfield; mother-in-law, Donna Toigo of Springfield; father-in-law, Bill (wife, Susan) Weir of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Scott, Garrett and Britney Lane, Adam and Corey Kohlrus, Norma Jean Dennison, Allania Hutchinson, Jack Mohanty, and T.J. and Ashley Weir. Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2009 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut, Springfield with Rev.
