She was born in Springfield on December 5, 1940, the daughter of Dr. Emmet and Mary (Maxon) Pearson. Mary married Harold Perkins in Springfield on December 29, 1962.
Mary was a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She taught English at Murry High School in St. Paul, MN. Mary enjoyed several civic organizations in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Thomas (Anna) Pearson and Edwin (Katy) Pearson.
Mary is survived by her husband, Harold Perkins; son, Jeffrey (Krista) Perkins; grandchildren, Blair and Maxon Perkins; Krista’s children, Sarah, Erica, Seth, and Raea; daughter, Mary Lynn (James) Bertram of Miromar Lakes, FL, and their children, Katie, Abby, and Emily; sister, Ann Tucker; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
Inurnment will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
