Mary Agnes Green, 98, of Springfield, died at 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Oak Terrace. Mary was born April 29, 1917 in Sigel. She married Joseph Leon Green on January 17, 1939 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception; he preceded her in death on June 4, 1978. Mary was a 1935 graduate of Effingham High School and worked at St. John's School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, St. Aloysius Women's Society, St. Louise de Marillac, AARP Chapter 195, Over 55 Club, and Garnet Gals Red Hat Club Chapter 61139. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Pat Green and one brother, Leonard Klein. She is survived by three sons, Robert L. (wife, Tina) Green of New Berlin, James (wife, Tamra) Green of Madras, OR, and Thomas R. (wife, Deanna) Green of Springfield; two daughters, Marianna (husband, Paul) Bacon of Normal and Diana L. (husband, Gary) Hetherington of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Christine Whitlock of Peterson, MN; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
