Marjorie May Strano, 95, of Springfield, passed away on January 30, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 21, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Albert Kidd and Margaret Kluber. Marj married Dr. Alfonso Joseph Strano in Oklahoma City in 1957 and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2006.
Mrs. Strano is survived by her daughter Margaret Strano of Springfield; niece Mickey DiMaria-Corey and husband Len Corey of Pearland, TX; nephews Anthony Cuzzacrea of Lockport, NY; nephew Joe Strano and wife Janine Toth of Bloomington, IL; nephew Max and wife Bobbie Strano of Bridgewater, PA, nephew Don and wife Susan Strano of Mars, PA; and niece Michelle Kuschel of Swickley, PA; as well as many great, great great and great great great nieces and nephews.
Marj was a longtime Midwest Charity Horse Show board member who served as their treasurer and hostess extraordinaire. Both she and her late husband, Dr. Alfonso Strano, were major contributors to the show’s success and their daughter Margaret is carrying on the family tradition as a Midwest board member, board secretary, show hospitality director and show publicity director. Marj was extensively involved with The King’s Daughter’s Home Grateful Daughter’s Circle, Springfield Symphony Guild, Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and Springfield Art Association.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday February 4, 2023 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 East Allen Street. The family will greet friends after the service until 4:00pm. Burial will take place at Economy Cemetery in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made to Midwest Charity Horse Show, Trinity Lutheran Church and the Springfield Fire Department.
