Margaret Delores Smith

She was born on Feb. 11, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of the late Leo and Laura Jane (Young) Page. She married William Roy Smith on April 15, 1951 in Taylorville, IL and he survives.

Margaret’s passion was her husband, her children, and all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great grandchild. She was a member of the FourSquare Gospel Church. She collected and made dollhouses and the furniture, she collected Royal Dalton figurines, and Madame Alexander dolls.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, “Bill”, she is survived by her children, Janet Gene (husband James) Gille of Springfield, James Dean “Butchie” (dec’d in 2002) (wife Mitzi) Wilson of Lakewood, CO, Bonnie (husband William) Smith Hester of O’Fallon, IL, Mark Roy (wife Janet) Smith of Lenexa, KS, Lance Lee (wife Jane) Smith of Petersburg, IL, Julie Ann Smith (husband Joe Schripsema ) of Bradley, IL, and Danny Ray (wife Brenda) Smith of Cantrall, IL; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild, a sister “Erma” Eileen Henson and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by two young daughters Sharon and Terra and a brother Kenneth and his wife Mary Todd.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield where visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 10 am until time of the funeral service at 11:30 am. Rev. Julie Ann Smith and Rev. Fred Prince will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the APL (Animal Protective League) of Sangamon Co.
