Margaret A. Fitch, 91, of Springfield, died on Monday, March 23, 2009 at her residence. Margaret was born on July 15, 1917 in Berlin, the daughter of John W. and Doyle Hammond Scott. She married Frank A. Fitch in 1936. He preceded her in death in 1996. Margaret began her career at Palmer Sanitarium where she met her husband, Frank. She went on to dedicate many years at the John W. Hobbs Corporation working as an inspector. Margaret was a member of Third Presbyterian Church for over fifty years. She also enjoyed working on various crafts in her free time. Also preceding Margaret in death are her parents; brother, Leslie Scott; sisters, Grace Clark, Maxine Hargis, Mary Jane Talbott, and Martha Scott; and two half brothers, Raymond and Cecil Scott. She is survived by her son, Thomas A. "Tom" (wife, Judy) Fitch of Springfield; her grandson, Jeffrey A. Fitch of Springfield; in addition to several nieces and nephews. A graveside ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Berlin Cemetery with Rev. Brent Mitchell officiating.
