

Marcus was born May 5, 1961, in Chicago, IL, the son of Jack and Jessie M. Hannah Lucas.
Marcus graduated from Lindblom Math and Science Academy and attended ISU in Bloomington. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was employed with the Illinois State Police retiring as a Lieutenant. Marcus was past president of N.O.B.L.E. Land of Lincoln Chapter, past president of Porsche Club America Lincoln Trails, vice president of the Central Illinois Food Bank Board, chair of Springfield Police Community Review Commission, member of Springfield Multi-Cultural Advisory Council, member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, and Eta Psi Sigma Chapter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Lucas and stepfather, Rosamond Streety.
Marcus is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Price of Springfield; children, Christopher (Lindsey) Evans of Ft. Benning, GA and Quadis (Rodney Dial) Evans of Lincoln; grandson, Moses Evans; mother, Jessie Streety; siblings, William Earl Hannah of Louisville, KY, Reginald (Joelle) Hannah of Moorpark, CA, Sherin Gibbs of Memphis, TN, and Willie (Willow) Hannah of Dover, DE; god sisters, Anita Burroughs of Jacksonville, FL and Cassandra Wells, Chicago; godchildren, Karon McFadden and Brandis Heffner; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Memorial Ceremony: 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Butler Funeral Homes-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Elder Gary McCants officiating. Following the ceremony, there will be a walk through by the Illinois State Police.
Memorial Gathering: will follow the ceremony and walk through until 7:00 p.m.
