Maralee M. Johnson

She was born on April 10, 1950 in Greenfield, IL, the daughter of Raymond and Eileen (Opper) Mears.

Maralee worked at the Illinois Beef Association for 23 years, where she served as Executive Vice President for the past 13 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springfield, served on the ACES Alumni Association Board for the University of Illinois, and on the Pleasant Plains School Board, serving as President.

She is survived by a son Brent (wife Elizabeth) Johnson of Springfield, a daughter Lindsay Johnson of Northampton, England, her mother Eileen Mears-Morrow of Greenfield, IL, two grandsons Owen and Max Johnson, and two brothers, Larry (wife Kathy) Mears of Rockbridge, IL and Leland (wife Carol) Mears of Branson, MO.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond L. Mears.

Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West. Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 3 to 7 pm at First United Methodist Church, 2941 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield. The memorial service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10:30 am at the church.
