Loyd L. "Butch" Jones, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at St. John's Hospice. Loyd was born January 23, 1941 to Charles Morris "Mutt" and Erma (McWilliams) Jones in Beardstown, IL. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Mary; son, Scott (companion, Brenda) of Maywood, MO; one grandson, Brandon; two brothers, Charles (Jeanette) of Muncie, IN and Jeffrey (Jan) of Washington, IL; aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and special feline friend, Tiger. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jaris Cox; infant daughter, Lucinda; and stepson, Steve. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Gathering and Celebration of Life: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at New Life Family Church, 303 S. Clover Lane, Auburn. Pastor Larry Griffith and Pastor Tony Sale will be officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
