Loren G. Miller, 92, of Springfield, died at 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Loren was born April 5, 1920 in Vandalia, the son of John and Etta May Eveland Miller. He married Dorothy McCracken on September 26, 1940 in Henderson, KY; she preceded him in death. Loren proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy for three years on active duty and 20 years active reserve. He worked for over 30 years for Allis Chalmers and was a member of the Navy Club, life member of the DAV, and a member of the Chief's Club. He enjoyed playing guitar and enjoyed golfing. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Linda Black and Diana (husband, Vincent "Butch") Romanotto, all of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; forty-one great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Zelma McNabb of Robinson, Bob (wife, Pat) Miller of Indianapolis, IN, Bernadine Chilibolost of Mont Clare, CA, Patty Potter, Jack Miller, Betty (husband, Bill) Lendsay, David (wife, Phyllis) Miller, Susan (husband, Randy) Burtch, all of Flat Rock; step-mother, Dorothy Hart of Robinson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
