Lillian Alice Butler, 93, of Springfield, died at 6:58 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at home. She was born August 4, 1920 in Chicago, the daughter of James Roy and Emily Cohan Day. She married Robert O. Butler on October 19, 1941 in Chicago; he preceded her in death on January 1, 2011. Mrs. Butler was a homemaker. She had worked for Illinois Bell Telephone in Chicago, Pacific Northwest Bell in Bremerton, WA, Amoco Reservations in Springfield and retired from Springfield Lakeside Coast to Coast Hardware. She has served as Red Cross Grey Lady at Memorial Hospital and the volunteer Supervisor of the Mariamma Home for Girls. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Elks Ladies 158. Survived are four daughters, Judith Ann Butler of Springfield, Lillian Alice Herter of Highland Park, Roberta Sue (husband, Michael) Hickey of Rochester, and Sheri Bea (husband, Walter) Hill of Fairview Heights, IL; nine grandsons; two granddaughters; and eleven great-grandchildren. Cremation rites were accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Memorial Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
