

Leon Dale Catron, 72, of Springfield, passed away on January 11, 2023 at his residence. He was born on September 13,1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Leon Henry Catron and Alma Joyce Miller. Dale married Brenda Deatherage in Bethany, Oklahoma on May 29, 1971.
Mr. Catron is survived by his wife Brenda of Springfield; children: Tamara (Shannon) Leesman of New Berlin and Todd (Jessica) Catron of Springfield; six grandchildren: Samantha Catron, Logan Catron, Bradley Leesman, Brian Leesman, Cameron Catron, Brandi Leesman; one sister Linda McFadin and four step-siblings: Toni (Bill) Thompson, Gary (Shirley) Williams, Kim (Lane) Fitz and LaJuan Hadley. He was preceded in death by one son Troy Catron, one brother Lee Catron, one brother-in-law Jerry McFadin, one step-sister Sherry Hadley, his father Leon Henry Catron, and his step-mother Charlene Catron.
Dale Served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He graduated with degrees in accounting and nursing, and he worked in the IT department for Hospital Sisters Health Systems from 1981 until his retirement in 2014. Dale enjoyed gardening, reading, vacations and attending his grandchildren’s plays, concerts, and sporting events.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday January 16, 2023 at Old Salem Cemetery with Mr. Art Cornell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Lakeside Church of Christ.
