Lena E. “Betty” Huff, 87, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013. Betty was born on February 9, 1926, in Fillmore, IL, the daughter of John and Lena (Rademacher) Elam. Betty married Henry Huff on January 13, 1946, they shared 58 years of marriage together until he preceded her in death on March 5, 2004.
Also preceding her in death are her parents, 2 sons Larry and Ronnie Huff, 1 brother, and 1 sister, and her 1 infant grandson and 1 infant great-grandson.
She is survived by her children; Ret. Lt. Col. Gary (Carol) Huff of Dawson, IL, Sherry (Harold) McQuinn of Mason City, IL, Connie (George) Sneyd of Chatham, IL, and Deanna (Bill) Marvin of Mechanicsburg, IL, as well as 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, her sister Lucile (Roy) Carpenter of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was a member of Southside Christian Church, she volunteered at the Senior Services Center of Illinois, she loved quilting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E Allen St Springfield IL 62703.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 10 am at the funeral home with a time to gather before the service at 9:30 am. Rev. Dave Jackson elder from Southside Christian Church will conduct the services.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
