Kelly A. Ford, 49, of Springfield, died at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at her home. Kelly was born July 7, 1964 in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the daughter of Joseph E. and Edith Zimmerman McCormick Jr. She married Robert "Bob" Ford on September 28, 1985 in Springfield. Kelly attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Glenwood High School. She earned her cosmetology license and was employed in the cosmetology industry for almost 28 years. She owned her own salon, Kelly Ford's Salon and Boutique for almost eight years, and also worked for BJ Grand Salon, Tangles, and Ashley Furniture. She was voted Hairstylist of the Year and received the Best Salon Award in the Illinois Times. Kelly was a member of West Side Christian Church and she enjoyed volunteering at church, travelling, gardening, home cooking, home staging and redesign, her bible study group, and spending time with family, friends and her two dogs, Kianna and Sophie and cat, Cloe. She was preceded in death by her Father, Joseph; grandparents, Joseph and Mary McCormick and Edward and Verna Zimmerman; father-in-law, William Ford; and sister-in-law, Beverly Joyce. She is survived by her husband, Bob Ford of Springfield; two children, Eric J. Ford and Nicole R. Horner, both of Springfield; two grandchildren, Arianna and Kailynn; mother, Edith McCormick of Springfield; two sisters, Joellyn High and Terri (husband, James) McKenna, both of Springfield; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law, Jan Ford of Sherman; four sisters-in-law, Carolyn (husband, Steve) Rome of New Orleans, LA, Cindy (husband, Larry) Ayers of Pawnee, Nancy (fianc, Shawn) Heller of Sublet, IL, and Mary Kay (husband, Tim) Austiff of Chatham; brother-in-law, Dan (wife, Theresa) Ford of Clayton, MO; step mother-in-law, Pat Ford of Monticello; and step-brothers and sisters, Jerry (wife, Bev) Hardwick of Decatur, Tony (husband, Darrell) Heisey of Champaign, Craig (wife, Pam) Hardwick of Monticello, and Mike (wife, Janetta) Hardwick of Bloomington. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Eddie Lowen of the West Side Christian Church officiating.
