Kathryn Kathy Luttrell Maxey, 61, of Chatham, passed away Saturday morning on December 29, 2018. Kathy was born on July 25, 1957, in Springfield, the daughter of Edward and Marilyn Peters Luttrell. She married James W. Maxey in 1987 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on February 17, 2009. Kathy graduated from Springfield High School in 1975 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. She worked as a kitchen designer for Reardons, but most importantly she was a mother. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, being outdoors, fishing, and camping. Kathy was also a talented artist. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn S. Luttrell and daughter, Ellyn Maxey. She is survived by her son, Christopher (fiance, Naarah Patton) Maxey of Austin, TX; father, Ed Luttrell of Springfield; siblings, Stephen E.. (wife, Lori) Luttrell of Springfield and Bradley W. (wife, Nora) Luttrell of Oklahoma City, OK; nieces, Mairine Luttrell, Marilyn Luttrell, Emily Drennan, and Elizabeth Maxey; two nephews, Magnus Luttrell and Robert Maxey; several cousins; and her beloved dog, Einstein. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center Chatham prior to ceremonies. Memorial Gathering: The family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham.
