She was born on July 18, 1937 in Freeland, PA, the daughter of Joseph and Bridget (Shearon) Hamershock. Kathy married Joseph “Joe” William DeAngelo on October 14, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA.
Kathy was a 1955 graduate of St. Ann’s High School in Freeland, PA, and was proudly part of a 12-student class! She went on to work for Donnelley Yellow Pages and then Philadelphia Life Insurance Company, before settling down to raise her family. Kathy was a member of the Springfield community for 20 years, and was a faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She volunteered at hospitals, and loved to feed the birds and squirrels. Kathy also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling U.S. state parks, reading, working on puzzles, and watching Days of Our Lives for over 50 years. Her favorite genres of music were anything from the 1950s, piano, and classical. Kathy was known to be kind, gentle, happy, and witty. She was proud of her Irish heritage and adored the color blue.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Eleanor Uysase, Dolores Pavlich, and Patricia Garrett; and brothers, James, Tom, and Joseph Hamershock.
Kathy is survived by her husband Joseph; daughter, Therese (Joe) Cole; son, Chris (Kelly) DeAngelo; grandchildren, Trevor (Anna) and Casey DeAngelo, and Mary and James Cole; and great-grandchildren, Emerson Sloane DeAngelo and Bradley DeAngelo.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.
Graveside Ceremony will be private at Roselawn Memorial Park.
